Hurricane Irene

Hurricane Irene struck Rhode Island on Sunday, August 28, 2011.  And although the storm had weakened and was down to a tropical storm, she caused damage throughout the state.  Trees and power lines were downed and flooding abounded.  The shrine lost about 8 to 10 trees.  The statue of St. Raphael was destroyed, along with one bench and one decade of the Rosary.  However, with all the downed trees, the shrine came through the storm well.  Below are some pictures.
